Welcome to the Annual

TRIBE WODEN THOR, Medieval Feast and Tourney.

Arts and Trades

With last year being the first year for this very successful addition to the Annual Feast & Tourney we will continue to showcase the Arts and Trades of the people we represent. By doing this it is our hope to further encourage our members to develop there skills and interest when it comes to the everyday trades and aspects of the Medieval life style.

This event is open to all members of Tribe Woden Thor and we encourage everyone no matter of your perceived level of skill to sign up for this. This event will provide an opportunity to all of us to gather feedback from the rest of the membership body and to practice our presentation.

To explain this event first of all I would like to say that this is not just a crafting event and is open to those who simply want to share information about there persona and perhaps gain some further insight to help them with persona development. There are several concepts that you should consider for your presentation and they are listed below:

1. Physical representation: A physical representation of your work if you are a craftsmen. In the event that your display does not involve an actual physical representation of your work judges are asked to award a points score for the visual presentation of your display what ever that may be.

2. Working Knowledge: If you have a physical representation of your work you could use it as a means to explain the processes that would go into the construction of the piece. Otherwise you could explain the day to day aspects of your craft or profession.

3. Historical Knowledge: How did this craft or person fit into the society they were in during our time period.

4. Question and answer: You should include a question and answer portion of your display. During this time you would take 4-5 random questions from your audience and give them the answer to the best of your knowledge. If you do not know something then do not be afraid to say I don't know.

Judging for the Event Judging for this event will be done in two parts using the 4 categories listed above.

Each attendee at the Annual Feast & Tourney is asked to grade each of the participants in each of the 4 categories listed with a grade of 1-5. In addition to this the High Chief will be ranking all participants according to the total number of participants so if there are 10 participants then it will be 1-10, this is to be used in the case of a tie to determine an over all best.

Entry Date Because of the means being used for judging the event it is required that all participants let there intent to enter in the event be known to the Tribal First Defender on or before August 8th, 2011.

Everyone who decides to participate will be greatly appreciated and the over all best according to the audiences involved will be given an honor for there presentation. Remember that its not just a display of knowledge and skill but also a display of your ability to interact with the masses and your character in regards to the representation of the Tribe.
