Welcome to the Annual

TRIBE WODEN THOR, Medieval Feast and Tourney.

Now for the fun stuff, The Tourney is based upon our combat system and is a for members only part of the event, non members are welcome to take part but will not be in the running for any awards or for the tourney champions prize. The Tourney Champions prize this year is to be announced.

Description of Competitions:

Day 1

3:00-4:00 = The official opening of the Tourney games for 2011 All participants must be reg. with the tourney marshal by this time.

Tourney Combat – Round 1

To Follow = Balance Log Combatants shall attempt to knock an opponent off of a balancing log. Combat shall be with mace and shield. There will be judges on both sides of the log to determine whose foot touches the ground first. The competition shall be single elimination with matchups determined by a draw of names from a helm. 1st Place = 100 Points 2nd Place = 75 Points 3rd Place = 50 Points

Tourney Combat – Round 2

To Follow = Spear Throw for Distance Each Combatant receives Three Throws of the spear in an attempt to gain the greatest distance possible. Keeping only the score of the greatest distance achieved. A line shall be marked and if a thrower crosses that line in the attempt they shall forfeit that throw. Distance shall be measured in feet and rounded up to the highest foot. Therefore a throw of 20 feet 4 inches shall be recorded as 21 feet. Distances shall be measured to where a spear first strikes the ground. Points awarded shall equal the number of feet thrown.

Tourney Combat – Round 3

To Follow = Axe Throw for Accuracy A shield shall be propped up and contestants shall make a throw of an axe to attempt to knock the shield over, but a strike to the shield without it falling over shall count as a hit as long as the strike is not the cause of a rebound off the ground. First attempts shall be from ten paces. Those successful at ten paces shall move on to 15 paces, with every success advancing them back another five paces. Each contestant shall receive two chances at each distance. In the event that the two final contestants fail to hit in their two attempts from the longest distance achieved the contest shall become sudden death with the first to strike the shield to win 1st Place = 100 Points 2nd Place = 75 Points 3rd Place = 50 Points

Tourney Combat – Round 4

To Follow = Archery A ringed target shall be placed with graded values and assigned points for each concentric ring. Each contestant shall be given three arrows from 15 paces and three arrows from 30 paces and the contestants accumulated score from both distances shall be added to their totals

Tourney Combat – Round 5

Day Two: Beginning at 11:00

11:00 am = Opening address As outlined in the Itinerary

To Follow = Tourney Combat – Round 6 FINAL ROUND

To Follow = Heavy Fighting To take place in accordance with Tribal Combat Rules. Competition is to be a round robin / double elimination competition. Match ups will be determined by a draw of names from a helm. Once a competitor has lost twice their name will be removed from the draw. The Combat shall be marshalled and the marshal has final say over naming a victor. Points shall be awarded as follows: 1st Place = 300 Points 2nd Place = 200 Points 3rd Place = 100 Points

To Follow (If necessary) = Axe Throw for distance In the event of a tie in the points those tied shall each receive one throw of an axe for the greatest distance. Farthest throw wins.
