RECENT EVENTS

42nd annual Westby Syttende Mai

Westby Syttende Mai was a blast for the Tribe. We had a lot of fun and had the opportunity to meet and talk with some very interesting people. Thank you to all those who decided to stop and share with us and give us the opportunity to explain what it is that we do and who we are. Most of all THANK YOU to the people of Westby for the very warm welcome they gave us and the invitation to come and share this very special event with them and help them to celebrate there heritage.

Olde English Faire

The 37th annual Olde English Faire now being held at Wildlife Prairie State Park. This event was a wonderful addition to our schedule for this year and we had a lot of fun. Everything started out with rain which made the ground a little sloppy and then there was a great deal of heat, but everyone was wonderful despite this. We here at Tribe Woden Thor would like to thank everyone: producers patrons and fellow re enactors for a wonderful weekend and we look forward to coming back next year.

Ishpeming Art Faire and Renaissance Festival

A one day event featuring 75 art and craft booths, 8 theme related merchants, 6 food vendors. Along with a children's activity area (Kids Castle) and a broad variety of entertainment including dancers, musicians, singers, swordsman and games from the Renaissance period. Five different musical groups perform throughout the day. This energetic annual event attracts a large number of people of all ages and historically attracted a great number of families. This event is a lot of fun and we had a great time. The people love to be engaged and that was just one of the many things that we love about this event.

Illinois Renaissance Festival

For a small faire this one was a lot of fun for us. Its an event that has been around for a while and we are hopeing that it will grow with the support of the community and the patrons.

We are currently working hard at putting together the list of things we will be doing for the 2011 season of events. What new faires we may be attending and what new school shows we may be putting on. We are looking into doing several small local events featureing the Tribe and open to the public and not just faires. Right now our record of activities is wide open so if you or your organization is looking for a bunch of Vikings, Saxons and any number of other Medieval types. Feel free to contact us and you never know, we may just come pillaging in your neck of the woods.
